Welcome to NIH Image version 1.55 as modified by Dr. Mark Wittry of Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. The enclosed applications are freeware and may be distributed WITHOUT charge to any interested individual. The enclosed Self Extracting Application contains 1 folder. The folder is entitled 'NIH Image'. The Image application, all supporting files (color look uo tables, filters, macros, plug-ins), and documentation are contained within this folder. The stand alone 'ICONtoµDELTA Translator' requires the presence of both folders WITH THEIR PRESENT NAMES at the root level of the hard disk. Altering either folder's name will prevent the translator from working. These folders will be created the first time this application is launched. There is a 'Documentation' folder within the 'NIH Image' folder. This folder contains documents in the MicroSoft Wordª format that detail the NIH Image application BY the NIH. In addition, there is a 'TeachText' document describing the ICONtoµDELTA Translator. Finally, there is a 'TeachText' document entitled 'Image documentation' which describes the Image Macros created by Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center for the manipulation of nuclear medicine images. PLEASE NOTE: The nuclear medicine macros written by SLUHSC will automatically load upon launching NIH Image IF they exist in either the 'System Folder' or within the same folder containing the NIH Image application.
